Gadget of The Week

 Okay, I promise this will be my last post of today! 

I found a great use for my salad spinner other than just for getting the water off of my lettuce. We have been making popcorn today and my son was playing with my spinner (boys have such a fascination with things that go round and round) and a light bulb went off!! What if we put the popcorn in and added the butter and salt. We tried it and...IT WORKED!! The popcorn was evenly coated with butter and it also spun off some of the excess butter so it wasn't soggy! In my opinion, it was THE best way to make the perfectly 

buttered popcorn! :)

Why didn't I find this earlier?

Ok folks, I was in the baking section of my grocery store and I found this...

Have you tried it yet? It's amazing. No more greasing and flouring pans, just spray. I have made banana bread and pumpkin bread and they just slide out of the pan. I think it's a great find for all the holiday baking I will be starting soon. Hope this helps you out, and sorry if this is old news to you. I can be a little slow to figure things out.

Gadget of the Week...

I really can't believe we haven't had these yet as the "gadget".  Mr. T would be ecstatic to have these. But, alas we do not so he'll just have to dream:

Corn on the cob holder thingys!

Oh, how I love me some fresh, sweet, juicy corn!  Enjoy it while you can 'cause the season's coming to an end and enjoy that sweet, yummy corn without getting your fingers messy!

Gadget of the Week?

Well, it's back to school time (YEAH!!) and this week my gadget is any school supply you can get your hands on! My kids were really excited about their backpacks this year. My son got one with an attachable lunch box (which is super cool) and my daughter got a cool Justin Bieber backpack. 
Just make sure you take advantage of the c.h.e.a.p school supplies right now to stock up for homework and other projects that come your way. Hope you all enjoy a little bit of peace and quiet while the kiddos are back in school. I plan on creating a few new things with my extra time! :)

Gadget of The Week

So, my life has been TOTALLY hectic lately with trying to help my MIL get a HUGE yard sale ready and now it is finally done! But, with all of that helping, my housework has slipped a little...well, A LOT!! So my gadget I chose this week is a washer and dryer. (These are NOT mine, but I would totally LOVE them to be)
I am in the market to get new machines, but have NO idea what kind to get. I would love to hear your opinion on what kind you have and would recommend! Leave a comment below to help a sista out!!

Gadget of the week!

Have you ever tried this stuff...

My neighbor told me about it at the end of the season last year, so this is my first year using it. Let me just say, this is a total life saver. I haven't had to spent hours and hours weeding this summer. (I didn't get to the side of my house so don't judge K!) You have to try it, if you haven't already! I bought mine at Target, but I'm sure you can get it wherever they sell weed killer or fertilizer.  Happy gardening!!!

Gadget of the week!

With my little one running around out side with a popsicle all the time, this is a must have... All natural repellent. Pour equal amounts of water and white vinegar into a spray bottle and shake to mix well. Spray where ants are common, like where the Popsicle drips are. This also works inside your house. Plus it is safe to have with kids in your home.
So go out and enjoy a picnic with your family!

Gadget of the week!

Today to celebrate all of the bbq's going on I thought I would spotlight my ice cream machine! Yummy!!! It doesn't seem like summer until you have had some homemade chocolate ice cream.

This is an old school machine (Rival), but I always go back to it. Last year we bought one that you put in the freezer so it takes less time, but it didn't make as much and the container got all warped in the freezer so it didn't hook together the second time we tried to use it. Grrr!  So I guess the saying is true... "If its not broke, don't fix it." I like old school things better anyways!

Gadget of The Week!!

It's Monday again, and it is time for my gadget of the week! I am so excited that the weather has finally gotten good enough to use my fire pit! This picture isn't exactly mine, but it was as close as I could get. We got our fire pit at Lowe's a few years ago, and have L.O.V.E.D it! The kids especially like it when we roast hot dogs and have marshmallows. It is fun to have a bunch of friends over to sit by the fire while the kiddos play in the backyard. I love being outside and being with my family.

Gadget of The Week!!

I am so excited about my gadget this week!! I have chosen the KitchenAid Immersion Blender! We call this little beauty the boat motor at my house, but we use it for EVERYTHING! I used it in last weeks recipe for spaghetti sauce, we used it to whip up a nice marinade for some grilled chicken on Father's Day, and we also use it to make smoothies or milkshakes. It is perfect if you are just whipping up a small batch of smoothies or want a single serving milkshake. You don't have to get out your HUGE blender and clean the stinking thing with all of it's parts. We love this gadget at my house, hopefully you all can get one too!!
(P.S. They come in different colors, you don't have to get the red one like I have!) :)

Gadget of The Week!

So, this past week as actually been quite warm, so to go along with warm weather also comes the usage of popscicles! My sister told me about using cupcake papers under the popscicle. All you do is poke or cut a small hole in the bottom of the paper, and stick the stick through. Then the drips land in the paper,and not on your kiddos hands, thus a sticky mess avoided! :) Also, the whole container of papers only cost $1.00! They were cheaper than the really cool popscicles.

Hey!! My gadget of the week is this baby.....

This is my mini tiller. It has been a lifesaver this week. It has been so rainy that I haven't been out to weed. So, it finally dried out and instead of spending hours in the garden weeding, I just used this bad boy to tear up all my weeds! If you don't have one, I HIGHLY recommend one! :)
